Mary Margaret Fertig

Mary M. Fertig, 80 of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Mary was born on March 14, 1944, the daughter of Alexander and Barbara (Ruhl) Carson in Tecumseh, Michigan. She was raised in Adrian, Michigan and graduated high school in Tecumseh. As a young woman, Mary moved to Tinley Park, Illinois and worked as a CNA. She eventually moved to Grand Forks and was united in marriage to Donald Fertig on June 20, 1980, at United Lutheran Church. They made their home in Grand Forks.

Mary and Don enjoyed their retirement years traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. She proud member of the Hosana Full Gospel Church in Grand Forks.

Mary is survived by her children, Tony Bowman, Malinda (Andy) Deitz, Paula (Craig) Monette, Donna Fertig and Amber Trosen. She was a proud grandma to twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by two brothers; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald and eight siblings.

 Visitation will held be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Hosanna Full Gospel Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
