Mary Beth Adkison was taken home in the arms of angels May 20, 2023. Mary Beth’s earthly adventure began on June 26, 1958 in Galveston, Texas. Mary Beth grew up in Galveston, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX in the late 1980’s. Mary Beth relocated to Grand Forks, North Dakota in 2002.
Mary Beth had several diverse talents including sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her biggest passion was playing online games with her grandson Kenny in which she excelled making a name for herself in the online gaming community. “GrannyTFierce” became a highly regarded and well-known presence online. Feeling most at home in nature, Mary Beth also had a passion for the earth’s natural healing powers and homeopathic remedies.
Mary Beth’s life journey led her meet two ladies Angie Marcinak, and Vicky McCulley. Their friendship quickly blossomed and these two ladies became Mary Beth’s surrogate “sisters”. They were inspired by Mary Beth’s tales of overcoming the challenging struggles throughout her life. Their love of crafting and appreciation of wine made an inseparable bond between the trio. Like a tall, stately Oak tree, they stood unwavering by her side through her recent struggles with health issues.
Preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth “Beth” Adkison, Mary Beth’s naturally spunky, witty, and loving spirit, lives on through the greatest accomplishment of her natural life, her grandson Kenny Mathson, and granddaughter Emma Mathson and her surrogate daughter, Angela Mathson. Surrogate sisters Angie Marcinak, and Vicky McCulley, Son, Brian Adkison. Father, Kenneth Adkison, sisters, Terese Butler, Kathy Marie Adkison., Numerous nephews, Jordan, Ross, & Kyle Butler, Davy Herrin, and niece Haley Herrin Murphy.
