Marvin L. Granger, 86, Emerado, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the Good Samaritan Center of Larimore, ND, surrounded by his children. Marvin Louis Granger was born July 10, 1938, in Britton, SD, the son of Jesse and Grace (Pitkin) Granger. He grew up in Kidder and Britton, SD graduating from high school in 1956. Marvin married Bonnie Watkins on April 12, 1957, in Claremont, SD and resided in Britton. Marvin enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in February of 1958. He served 18 months overseas and returned to the states being stationed at Warner Robbins, GA before coming to the Grand Forks Air Force Base in 1962. He was honorably discharged in 1966 due to a service-related hearing loss. Marvin worked at the Grand Forks Air Force Base as a Civil Service electrician for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He then worked for an independent contractor at the Air Base until he retired completely at age 75. He managed the Myra Turkey Farm trailer court in Emerado, helped farm for many local farmers in Emerado and was always busy helping others wherever needed, including donating blood. He was a hard worker and dedicated himself to providing for his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. 

 Marvin and Bonnie had 3 children and lived on the Myra Turkey Farm trailer court until her death on January 5, 1985. Marvin married Sandra Paupst on January 31, 1987, in Grand Forks. She had 1 grown child. They lived in Emerado until she passed away February 16, 2021. 

Marvin then moved into Grand Forks where he resided with his daughter before moving to Parkwood, then Edgewood and finally Larimore Good Samaritan Center. During this time, he enjoyed playing bingo, working on puzzles and taking care of his dog, Charlie. Survivors include his children, Schawnn (Fred Gelinas) Decker, Grand Forks, Curwynn (Dawn) Granger, Grand Forks and Candonn (Cheryl) Granger, Reynolds, ND; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren along with his stepson, Rick (Dawnette) Rea; two step grandchildren; and brothers-in-law, Bob (Kaye) Watkins, and Larry (Jeannie) Paupst. 

Marvin was preceded in death by both of his wives; a brother, Ivan Granger; and brothers-in-law, Billy and Kenny Watkins, and Wayne Paupst.

 Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 13, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. The burial will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, grand Forks. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force funeral honors team.
