Marlys Rae (Bulow) Faehn died on September 1, 2019. Marlys was born to Floyd and Pearl (Erickson) Bulow on December 12, 1931 in Lake Preston, SD. Marlys and her husband, Donald (Don) C. Faehn were high school sweethearts and graduated from Watertown High School. They were married in Fargo, ND on June 8, 1951.
Marlys and Don had six children, Dixie, Julie, Scott, Lori, William “Bill”, and Jon. The family lived in Bemidji, MN from 1956 to 1969. They moved to Grand Forks in 1969. Marlys was employed as a bookkeeper at Grand Forks Clinic Pharmacy for 28 years. Following Don’s death in 2002, Marlys moved to Maryland to live with her son, Jon. Marlys moved to Fargo, ND in 2009 where she lived until her death.
Marlys is survived by daughters, Dixie (Bob Seidel) Evans, Grand Forks, ND, Julie (John) Sieling, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Lori White, Bakersfield, CA; sons, Scott (Carolyn) Faehn, Fargo, ND, William “Bill” Faehn, Fargo, ND, and Jon Faehn (Julian Kyle), Haverhill, MA; 14 grandchildren, Joshua (Olivia) Evans, Sunrise, FL, William “Bill” Ricke, Moorhead, MN, Katie (Steve) Balsdon, Hawley, MN, Melissa Sieling, Fargo, ND, Jenny Sieling, Detroit Lakes, MN, Michael (Jennifer) Faehn, Fargo, ND, Adam (Nichole) Faehn, Fargo, ND, Jessica Staska, Fargo, ND, Johnny (Sarah) White, Bakersfield, CA, Alexandra White Mayer, Satellite, FL, Jordan (Emily) Faehn, Prescott, AZ, Megan Faehn, Omaha, NE, Christopher Faehn, Fargo, ND, Tanner Faehn, Tuscon, Az; 20 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Cook, Watertown, SD; and 7 nieces and nephews. Marlys dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Faehn; her parents, Floyd and Pearl Bulow; sister-in-law, Bette Faehn; brothers-in-law, Robert “Bob” Faehn and James Cook; sons-in-law, Alvin White and Gary Ricke.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
