Marlys J. Huderle, 85 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Monday, December 23, 2024, at her home.
Marlys was born on May 27, 1939, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Pagnac) Thibodo in Argyle, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Argyle. After graduating from high school, she moved to Grand Forks and worked at a local grocery store.
Marlys married Walter Huderle on May 31, 1958, they made their home in Thief River, Minnesota for a brief time before making their home in Grand Forks. She raised their family and as their children got older, she had a daycare and also worked at Valley Senior living.
Marlys was an excellent cook and baker, also having freshly baked goodies for anyone that would stop. She was very artistic and enjoyed doing quilting, knitting, crocheting, pottery and sewing. Marlys also enjoyed gardening and canning. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Marlys is survived by her children, Greg (Lucy) Huderle, Janelle (Scott) Johnson, Paula (Jeff) Haney, Lori (David) Aarvig and Mark (Terri Schneider) Huderle all of Grand Forks, ND; thirteen grandchildren, Ryan (Deidre) Huderle, Rachel (Derek) Kuntz, Erick (Vivi) Huderle, Shawn Huderle, Christopher (Krystal) Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Brandon (Kristin) Haney, Steven (Rikki Rogers) Haney, Katlyn (Justin) Storm, Casey Aarvig, Cody Aarvig, Emiley Huderle and Ashley Huderle; 17 great grandchildren and one due in February; brother, Albin (Sharon) Westberg; sisters, Mary (Bill) Chavez and Julie Ramirez; brother-in-law, John Gulbranson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter (2002), siblings, William Thibodo, Barbara Cramp, Roger Thibodo, Bonnie Ledstrom and Joann Gulbranson.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
