Marion Harris

Marion Dorothy Harris, 88, Grand Forks, ND, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks.

Marion Schumacher was born May 1, 1930 in Kenmare, ND, the only daughter of Anthony “Tony” and Dorothy “Doris” (Hoffman) Schumacher. She was reared and educated in Kenaston and Kenmare, ND.

Marion married Roger Harris on June 27, 1949 in Kenmare, ND. The couple lived in Kenaston and them moved to Kenmare where they spent a number of years before moving to Burlington, ND and then to Minot, ND.

Marion was a homemaker who loved to bake and garden. She also ENJOYED doing the “dishes”!!! She enjoyed raising her children and later spending time with her grandchildren.

She is a current member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Aide at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, ND. She was also a Foster Grandparent at Holy Family School in Grand Forks.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Beth Harris, Westby, WI; daughters, Darla (Gaylen) Salberg, Grand Forks, ND, Kathie (Jack) Bender, Mechanicsburg, PA, Kerry (Warren) Jessen, Two Harbors, MN and Mary Pat Bernier, Topsham, ME; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother, Ronald J. Schumacher, Cheyenne, WY; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, Tony and Doris Schumacher; brothers, Leo and Paul; and a son, Michael.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church of Grand Forks.
