Marion J. Capouch

March 12, 1934 — January 18, 2023

Marion J. Capouch was born to Josephine Mary (Bina) and William Frank Bosh on March 12, 1934, on the farm near Bechyne, ND. Marion was the ninth child of eleven children. She attended the local country elementary school and later completed her education at the Lankin, ND public school.

Marion met Albert C. Capouch at a family gathering and soon fell in love. Marion and Albert were married June 25, 1951, moved to Grand Forks, and started their family. Born into the family were Patrick Lynn, Douglas Albert, Dean William, Albert Shane, Jodi Annette, and Janelle Marion.

Marion was a wonderful homemaker who welcomed everyone with open arms and a great homemade meal. The Capouch family were charter members of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks, where she was also was a member of the Altar Society, a Eucharistic minister, and an usher for more than 25 years. Marion was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Bosh-Ryba Post, Lankin, ND. She enjoyed playing cards and getting together with her friends in a card club, playing whist for 30+ years. She played poker with anyone who was willing to give up their cash. She loved to frequent casinos to take on the one-armed bandit which usually paid off when she was wearing her “casino” outfit.

Marion enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved seeing the fruits of her labor flourish throughout the summer. She was a wonderful cook. Her “children” were any that came through the door, and all were loved. She raised many children over the years. She especially loved sharing ice cream with them and rocking in the swing outside. She imparted her wisdom freely. Gathering with family and friends was very important to her, and she cherished all memories that were made. Marion and Albert were avid polka dancers. She spoke often of the dances at Bechyne and Kosobud Hall. Marion moved to assisted living in 2021 and appreciated the “family” she made at Sanford Comstock Corner in Hillsboro, ND.
