Marilyn E. Sherwin, 70 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota. 

Marilyn was born on February 20, 1954, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Thorpe) Jangula in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Larimore, North Dakota, graduating high school in 1972. During her early teens she worked at the local drive-in.

Marilyn was united in marriage on December 31, 1971, to the love of her life Larry Sherwin in Larimore. They made their home in Grand Forks. Throughout the years she worked at Stern’s Fur Company, Altru Rehab Hospital, Magnum Trucking, Motor Vehicle Department and North Dakota Eye Clinic.

Marilyn and Larry spent much of their free time together and it didn’t matter what they were doing as long as it was the two of them together. It was truly a love story that lasted fifty-three years.

Marilyn enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and Knitting. She loved her dogs that she had throughout the years. Marilyn enjoyed time spent with family and friends, but most of her husband, Larry.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Larry Sherwin of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Susan Earich of Manteca, CA; two sisters-in-law, Dorine (Eric) Fosaaen of Fargo, ND and Ernestine (Clyde) Brackey of Grand Forks, ND; three brothers-in-law, Gary Sherwin of Spring Valley, CA; Leslie (Sharon) Sherwin of Grand Forks, ND and Lowell Sherwin of East Grand Forks, MN; her nieces and nephews. 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, mother-in-law, Doris Sherwin and father-in-law, Ernest Sherwin.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, at Havig-Heen Auditorium - Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, at Havig-Heen Auditorium - Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Circle of Friends Animal Shelter (4375 N Washington St, Grand Forks, ND 58203) in memory of Marilyn.
