Margaret Anne Robinson, 93, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks.
Margaret Anne Robinson, daughter of William and Albina (Praska) Edwards, was born in Hoople, North Dakota on August 9, 1927. She grew up and attended school in Park River, North Dakota.
She married Stanley Burger in Park River, North Dakota. In that union they had 3 children, Judy, Mike and Linda. Stanley passed away in May of 1959.
On June 16, 1960, she married the love of her life, Elmer Robinson in Omaha, Nebraska. In that union they had one child, Julie Anne. The family resided and farmed in the Thompson, North Dakota area until retirement, then they wintered in Texas for 17 years. Upon Elmers passing, Margaret resided at Parkwood Senior Living for 3 years.
Margaret enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle at 6:00 p.m. with her Parkwood friends, crocheting, trips to the casino and Friday night races to cheer on her grandsons. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, which kept her young.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Linda (Keith) Schumacher and Julie (Danny) Shirek; daughter-in-law, Rae Ann Burger all of Thompson, ND; Nine grandchildren, Jeri (Jeff) Schmidt, Jo (Mike) Thorson, Peggy Corneillie, Michelle (Rod Huot) Olson, Michael (Tammy) Burger, Katie (Travis) Tschepen, Nicole (Josh) Rudie, Chris (Tara) Shirek and Nick (Jessie) Shirek; 25 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jane Willert, Bunny Bjarnason and Doris Robinson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, husbands, Stanley and Elmer; daughter, Judy Corneillie; son, Mike Burger; granddaughter, Janelle Lorenzen; grandsons, Jeff Lorenzen and Jason Lorenzen; sister, Bernice Houser; and brothers Leonard Edwards and Wally Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church or the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, Minnesota.
