Mardelle Bartholomew

Mardelle J. Bartholomew, 91, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Mardelle Jerene Vig, the daughter of Obert and Ota (Grundman) Vig was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on  September 7, 1927.  She grew up and attended local schools and graduated from  Grand Forks Central High School.   She attended UND for a few years.  Mardelle married Dixon Bartholomew on October 9, 1948 in Grand Forks.  They lived in Minneapolis for a short time before returning to Grand Forks.  She was employed by the Dacotah Hotel in Grand Forks and later by the Ramada Inn in Grand Forks where she was the executive housekeeper until retirement. 

Mardelle is survived by her son, Branden (Laurie) Bartholomew, Grand Forks;  grandchildren,  Casey (Shawna), Cody (Mary), Zach, Tyson;  and 6 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband,  Dixon; her parents;   a daughter, Karen;  and a sister, Marilue Johnson. 

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2019 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the church.   Interment will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials are preferred to Augustana Lutheran Church.
