Lori Beth Chisholm, 63, of Manvel, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota.

Lori was born on June 14, 1958, in Warren, Minnesota. The daughter of Gordon and Lynette (Olson) Holter, she grew up in Oslo, MN graduating from Oslo High School where she loved to play basketball. She made many long-lasting friendships and that is where she met her husband, Keith. They married in 1977 in Oslo. Lori wanted a winter wedding, and her wish came true with a record setting cold wedding day of -28°F.

They moved to East Grand Forks, MN, while Keith started their family farm and later bought a farmstead in Manvel, ND in 1981. Lori worked at United Hospital in Grand Forks. She and Keith started their family and had two children - Ashleigh and Samuel.

Lori, also known as ‘Chizzy’ to many, was a feisty softball player and in the wintertime had a passion for riding snowmobiles. In January of 1991, Lori was in a snowmobile accident that injured her and left her with chronic pain. Through her hardship she turned to the church for comfort and came out with a positive attitude. She saw worship with the church as a privilege, not a chore. She always found the positive in any situation regardless of how sad or frustrating it could be. One of her mottos was, ‘always find the positive’.

Lori loved to garden in not only her flower beds, but she had an amazing vegetable garden as well. Many people knew about her garden - she was so generous that many benefitted from her yearly harvest. She and her family loved to fish on the river on their pontoon. In the early years she and Keith took 7th place in the annual Cats Incredible fishing tournament.

Lori cultivated a deep trust and understanding in her friendships across her community. She loved to help on the farm to the best of her limited ability and the love she had for her grandchildren helped her live her day-to-day life.

Lori is survived by her husband Keith; children: Ashleigh (Jason) Chamley, Samuel (Abigail) Chisholm; grandchildren: Hudson Chamley, Ivy and Mara Chisholm; brothers: Robbin Holter, Larry (Wendy) Holter, David (Teresa) Holter, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jody.
