Loren Shane

Loren Shane “Hoss”, 68, died Friday, July 28, 2023 at home after a hard fought battle with cancer. 

Loren Alden Shane, the son of Henry LaRoy Shane and Alda (Lind) Shane,  was born in Grand Forks, ND on January 7, 1955. He was baptized at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church near Oslo, MN, and attended Oslo Public School, graduating with the class of 1973.

He married Annette (Bushaw) on March 3, 1984, “third month, third day, three o’clock, be there.”  Loren and Annette had two sons, Douglas and Kelvin.  He farmed for a bit, but spent most of his years as an auto mechanic…..one of the best around! He also managed the Mobil Station in Oslo, MN for a time.

In his younger years he raced a “street class” car from which he earned a roll-over trophy and won some races too! He was know as a “Mr. Fix-It.” Loren enjoyed going to all of his sons’ hockey games.  He was a very kind-hearted person. His love for his family and friends, any animal that came around, the outdoors, and his farm was unbelievable. 

Loren is survived by his spouse, Annette;  sons, Douglas (Stephanie) Shane  and Dr. Kelvin (Brittany Gronland) Shane;  and a brother, Gary Shane.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Joyce Devine.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, 15950 470th Ave NW, Oslo, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Kongsvinger Cemetery.
