Lois Irene Eliason

June 16, 1935 — April 6, 2019

Lois I. Eliason, 83, of Grand Forks died on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks.

Lois was born June 16, 1935 in Hatton, ND, the daughter of Irvin & Lillie (Huus) Gehrtz.  She grew up and attended school in Hatton.  She received a degree in elementary education from Mayville State and later a Bachelor Degree from UND.

Lois taught school at Belmont & Lake Agassiz schools.

She married Eldon Eliason and together raised 3 daughters.

She loved gardening and yard flowers often sharing examples with her mother.  Lois believed strongly in family.  Family always came first.  She was always taking care of everyone.  That became her legacy that was passed onto her daughters and grandchildren.  She was a very good cook, so we were always well fed.  She loved holiday’s together, family visits/reunions and served in various church groups. 

Lois was survived by her daughters, Jodi Eliason of Grand Forks, Janet (Joe) Eliason of Houston, TX and Laurie (Doug) Bullinger of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Chris, Cassie and Jesse Bullinger and great-grandchildren, Blake & Kadence all of Twin Cities area; sister, Donna Mae (Harold) Leland of Fergus Falls, MN; nieces, Kristen (Jay) Newman, Loni (Frank) Jacobson all of Fergus Falls, MN and a nephew Dr. Hal (Kelli) Leland of Brainerd, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Eldon and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at Amundson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment: Later spring at St. John's Cemetery in Hatton, ND.
