Linda Lee Sawatzky, a beloved member of the Grand Forks, North Dakota community, passed away on June 30, 2024. She was born on May 20, 1963, to her loving parents Charles C. and Shirley Ann Sawatzky in the same city she eventually departed from.
Throughout her life, Linda made a significant impact on those around her through both her career and personal interests. She started her professional journey by obtaining her GED and pursuing a degree in the medical field from Northland Community College. Linda went on to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, forming deep connections with the residents she served with her kind and welcoming personality. Her compassion and dedication to helping others did not go unnoticed.Later in her career, Linda transitioned to a role as a sales associate at TJ Maxx, where she found joy and fulfillment until health concerns necessitated her retirement. Her work ethic and positive attitude left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda was known for her vibrant spirit and diverse interests. She had a passion for collecting turtles, amassing an impressive collection that showcased her unique personality. In addition to her turtle hobby, Linda enjoyed collecting an assortment of porcelain masks and indulging in TV shows such as "Golden Girls" and crime series like "Unsolved Mysteries" and "Snapped."
Linda leaves behind cherished memories with her children: Natalie Cooper, Tyler Sawatzky, Justin Sawatzky, and Sabrina Sawatzky; grandchildren: Austin, Teisha, Tashawn, Neviah, and Tyanne; siblings: Theresa Dangerfield, Laura Mary (Jim) Crow, Ricky (Keli) Schmitz; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her life partner, Samuel "JC" Cooper and her parents, Charles and Shirley Ann Sawatzky.May Linda rest in peace knowing that her kindness has left an indelible mark on those whose lives she touched.
A family directed Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm at Sertoma Park in Grand Forks on Friday, July 5, 2024.
