Lenny Lee Lillo
Lenny Lee Lillo, 48, died January 15, 2020 in Grand Forks, ND. A memorial service will be held at River Heights Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, MN at 11am on Wednesday, January 22nd with Pastor Noah Thompson officiating. Lunch and a time of visiting to follow. An additional memorial service will be held at a later date in Mankato, MN.
Lenny was born on May 19, 1971 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Jim and Barb Blilie. He was later adopted by Ernest and Margaret Lillo of Mankato, MN. Lenny was baptized in infancy. After moving to Mankato as a child, he attended Mt Olive Lutheran School and Mankato East High School, where he graduated in 1989. He is a veteran of the United States Army and he held various jobs in the Grand Forks area after returning to live there as an adult. Lenny enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad and brothers while growing up. He connected with people wherever he went and, as much as he struggled, he remained hopeful and always assured those around him that everything was going to be OK.
Lenny is survived by a daughter from a previous marriage, a son, Sam Lillo of Emerado ND, from his marriage to Connie Lillo , parents Ernest and Margaret Lillo of Mankato MN, brothers Chuck (Lisa) Lillo of North Mankato MN, Lance (Tya) Lillo of Good Thunder MN, Kevin (Molly) Lillo of Stillwater MN, Chris (Amy) Lillo of Seldovia AK, sister Gail Lillo of Mankato MN and sister Kari (Mike) Fletcher of Mankato MN, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as many biological family members.
Lenny was preceded in death by his biological parents, and grandparents Milton and Marjorie Otto and Maurice and Alma Lillo.
A remembrance tree with commemorative plate will be planted in both Grand Forks and in Mankato in honor of Lenny and memorials will be used for this purpose.
