Hatton

Lee Rodger Walberg, age 39, of Hatton, North Dakota, died Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota, surrounded by the love of his family.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Amundson Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Forks, North Dakota with Pastor Patrick Severson officiating. A public visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Lee was born March 14, 1985, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Rodger and Paulette (Higginbotham) Walberg. He graduated from Red River High School in 2003. Following graduation, he attended the Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona and completed extensive diesel mechanic training with Caterpillar, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel. This dedication ultimately led him to establish an independent trucking business, a venture filled with dreams of one day having his daughter, Lexah, join him in his professional legacy. On September 24, 2008, Lee was united in marriage to Tonya Dalen; together they were blessed with a daughter, Lexah; they later divorced.

When Lee was not busy trucking, he enjoyed spending time playing darts, cooking on his Traeger for his family and friends, and camping and spending time at Devils Lake with his daughter. Lee was an avid gun collector and had a remarkable sense of humor, often brightening the day of those around him with his playful pranks that sparked laughter and joy. His laughter, kindness, and unconditional love for his family will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Lee is survived by his daughter, Lexah Walberg of Grand Forks, ND; parents, Rodger and Paulette Walberg of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Kimberly Burris (Harold Lovelace) of Minneapolis, MN; nieces, Taylor (Brandon) Johnson of Duluth, MN, Mackenzie Burris of Minneapolis, MN, Bryce Burris of Minneapolis, MN, and Kenady Burris of Grand Forks, ND; great-niece, Violet Johnson; partner, Mac Maruska of Hatton, ND; former wife, Tonya Walberg of Grand Forks, ND; beloved pets, Jasmine and Lucy; and many aunt, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
