Lawrence "Jerry" Gerald Goulet was born November 6, 1943, in Langdon to Edward and Edna (Vondal) Goulet. He attended school in Wahalla. Jerry spent his working career with Johnson Farms and Associated Potato Growers where he worked in hauling and farming. On October 12, 1963, Jerry was united in marriage to Joyce Martin. In 1964, they began their family in Wahalla; eventually they moved around East Grand Forks, Grand Forks, Devils Lake, Manville, and Gilby until they returned home to the Grand Forks area in 1989, where they remained.
Jerry loved entertaining his family by telling stories and jokes; he also was known for giving his "expert" advice. He had a listening ear for anyone's problems and for learning music; he could pick up a guitar and play songs instantly. Jerry found joy in singing and playing music for his family, especially when dancing with Joyce. He spent much of his time outdoors hunting and fishing. Jerry's smile lit up the room and will be deeply missed.
Jerry was survived by his wife, Joyce of Grand Forks, daughter, Carla Goulet, Lonnie Goulet, Darin (Nicole) Goulet, and Jerry Goulet all of Grand Forks; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther "Dolly"(Lloyd) Martin of Grand Forks, Shirley (Albert) Meagher of Grand Forks, Phyllis Lafferty of Wahalla; brother, James Goulet of Grand Forks; and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Edward; son, Loran; grandson, Cody Goulet; sisters, Darlene Sandbeck, Barbara Day, and Lorraine Poitra; brothers, Oris Goulet and Robert Goulet; and brother-in-law Frances Lafferty Sr.
The pallbearers will be Andrew Gerszewski, Trevor Gerszewski, Andin Schaffer, Colt Goulet, Wyatt Goulet, Logan Goulet, Alan Scherer, and Lonnie Falcon Jr. Jerry's nieces and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
