Laura “Sally” Thompson, 96, passed away peacefully where she lived in the Heartland area of Valley Senior Living on 42^nd, Grand Forks.

Sally attended Union Commercial Business College in Grand Forks, ND. Sally worked for J.C. Penney for more than 30 years. Sally and her husband, Herman shared their love of the lake by fishing with their family on yearly vacations in the Bemidji and Cass Lake area.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Doug) Doyle and their children, Jeff (Katie), Brad (Melissa), Mike (Sabrina); son, Bob (Barb) Thompson and their children, Dave (Michelle) and Amie Iverson; great grandchildren, Jessica, Thomas, Tyler, Marin, Elizabeth, Abigail and Emma; brother, Rixon Rafter; and several nieces and nephews.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Thompson; by her parents, Cecil and Mary Rafter; and a sister, Elizabeth Miller.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Interment with family will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 11, 2022 in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.

Memorials are asked to be directed to Valley Senior Living on 42^nd or to a charity of your choice in memory of Sally.
