Larry S. Morrison, 63, of West Fargo, North Dakota died on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Fargo, North Dakota.

Larry was born the son of Pat and Geraldine (Hoff) Morrison on August 26, 1960, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from Red River High School in 1978. Larry attended the University of North Dakota, receiving a bachelor’s degree in business management.

Larry was united in marriage to Joni Orr on June 15, 1990, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He was a loving, hard-working, and devoted husband and an extremely proud father whose primary focus was providing for his family. 

Larry started his career with JCPenney working in the stockroom at the age of seventeen, eventually moving into department and store management positions. The majority of his 43 years with the company were spent in locations throughout the Midwest, including Norfolk, NE; Yankton, SD; Fort Morgan, CO; Columbus, NE; and Sioux City, IA. After retiring from JCPenney, Larry and Joni moved to West Fargo, ND where Larry was employed as store manager for Party City, Inc. for the past 3 years.

Larry was an avid Fighting Sioux hockey fan and enjoyed high school hockey tournaments. He was a loyal, although often disappointed, Minnesota Vikings fan and quickly became a Huskers football fan during his time in Nebraska. Larry always had a project or two in the works and could often be found at his custom built workbench in the garage or working in his yard. Above all else, Larry cherished time spent with his family, especially his new grandson, who was his pride and joy.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joni Morrison of West Fargo, ND; son, Ryan Morrison of Three Lakes, WI; daughters, Courtney (Zach) Synstegaard of Lester Prairie, MN and Laura Morrison of Mankato, MN; grandson, Lucas Synstegaard; father, Pat Morrison of Grand Forks, ND; siblings, Linda (Rodney) Olson of Thompson, ND; Lee (Joelle) Morrison of Aurora, CO and Lisa Morrison of Grand Forks, ND; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Dorie Orr of East Grand Forks, MN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Kevin (Sandy) Orr of New Ulm, MN; Mike (Teresa) Orr of Grand Forks, ND; Dan (Therese) Orr of West Fargo, ND;  Teri (Wes) Lutz of Ottertail, MN; Brad (Kris) Orr of Aberdeen, SD; Jana (Jason) Heen of Bismarck, ND and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Geraldine Morrison, infant son, Jeffrey Morrison and nephew, Patrick Morrison.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
