Larry L. Metzger

Larry L. Metzger, 90, Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, February 10, 2023 at home, surrounded by his family.

Larry was the 10^th child born to Matt and Clara Anna (Dickmann) Metzger on June 25, 1932 at Wales, North Dakota.  He attended a country school near Walhalla, North Dakota.   Larry worked on his parents farm until the age of 20 when he moved to Grand Forks and was employed by Greenberg Roofing until h had an on the job injury at age 57.  Larry and Rose M. Greene were united in marriage in 1999 and shared 31 years together. 

He enjoyed hunting,  fishing, cooking, and having parties in the garage. 

Larry is survived by his wife, Rose;  a son, Larry (Sue);  a daughter, Pamela (Mike) Squires;  granddaughter, Nikki (Dan) Kaczmarek;  2 great-granddaughters, Lexy and Hailey Palmer;  a grandson, Ryan Metzger;  many nieces and nephews;  great nieces and nephews;  great-great nieces and nephews;  great-great-great nieces and nephews;  great-great-great-great nieces and nephews;  honorary sons, Loren (Sharyl) Shereck, and Dave Sogge.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  a son, Randall; 8 sisters;  one brother;  a grandson, Jesse Metzger.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42^nd St., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at a later date in St. Boniface Cemetery, Walhalla, North Dakota.  In Lieu of Flowers the family prefers memorials to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
