Kimberly Sierra Peterson was born to Margaret Oldfield on November 7th, 1997 in Omaha, Nebraska. After moving to Minnesota, she attended elementary school in Norman County, MN. She was adopted by Darrell and Sharon Peterson on October 22nd, 2008, and in subsequent years lived in St. Michael, MN, Necedah, WI, and Rhinelander, WI. She completed her middle school and high school years with a combination of homeschooling and public school, and graduated from Rhinelander High School in the spring of 2016.

Kim moved to Menomonie, WI to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and completed some college coursework before pausing that to work full-time. During this time, Kim had her daughter, Aliyah, and was co-parenting while working full-time. She re-started her college studies, and completed her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Management and Leadership from Bellevue University in March, 2024. She worked in a wide variety of jobs, and dedicated herself to her beloved daughter, Aliyah. Kim was a creative, intelligent, and strong woman who lived with determination and passion.

Kim passed away in Twin Valley, MN, a town she lived in as a child, on September 24th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Margaret Oldfield. She is survived by her daughter, Aliyah; parents, Darrell and Sharon Peterson; brothers: David (Zada) Peterson and nephew Axel, Logan Peterson and Aaron Peterson; Grandmothers, Barbara Peterson and Eileen Murray; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kim was much loved, and will be missed.

A private Memorial Service will take at a place a later date.
