Kenneth S. Kuhl, 71, Grand Forks, died Friday, August 10, 2018 at home in Grand Forks.
Kenneth Samuel Kuhl, the son of Sam and Alma (Peitsch) Kuhl, was born on October 5, 1946 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He moved to Grand Forks in 1957 and went to school at Viking Elementary, South Junior High and graduated from Central High School. He attended UND and graduated in 1969.
Ken married Janet Ostad on June 4, 1966. They lived in Grand Forks where they owned and operated Tri- State Laboratories as well as several local rental properties.
He loved his family very much and his grand children were the joy to his heart. He loved the Lord with all his heart and loved to read and study the Bible. One of his favorite Bible verses was John 3:16.
He loved to help people in any way he could. He was involved with the Gideon’s for many years, Wycliffe Associates and church boards. Sharing his love for the Lord and sharing Bible stories was something he really enjoyed. He loved to tell his grandchildren stories whenever he saw them about God’s love.
He enjoyed playing violin with his Dad, cousins and grandchilden. When he found time he loved to garden, read and pick blue berries.
Ken is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Kerrie (Paul Chadwick), Kevin (Mamie), Kraig, Kristal (Steve) Altendorf; his grandchildren, Luc Chadwick, Henry Kuhl, Josh and Melissa Beezley, Kaleb and Caden Kuhl, Kyle, Karalyn and Katelyn Altendorf siblings; Marlene (Steve) Thomas, Bill (Jeanne) Kuhl, Wes (Cari) Kuhl, Darryl (Jean) Kuhl. Other special “children” Kelly Arganbright, Michelle Shumate and Brent Gillies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at University Lutheran Church, 2122 University Ave., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m Monday, August 13, 2018 with a prayer service following at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, and will continue one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks. The family prefers memorials to Gideon’s, Wycliffe or University Lutheran Church.
