Kathleen "Kay" Georgia Patron

Kathleen "Kay" G. Patron, 85 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Altru Hospital.

Kay was born the daughter of William and Georgia (Maixner) Bosh on June 4, 1939, in Brocket, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Brocket, North Dakota. Kay excelled at basketball during her high school years. She worked at MaBell Telephone Company as an operator.

Kay was united in marriage to John “Stan” Patron on September 10, 1960. They made their home in Grand Forks and Kay was a stay-at-home mom until their four children were all in school. She then started her career at city hall as a HR Secretary until her retirement in 2004.

Kay enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, QVC, gardening and watching the birds in her yard. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Kay is survived by her children, Lori (John) Lutheran of ND, Todd (Theresa) Patron of IN, Sherri (Terry) Nelson of MN and Shawn Patron of ND; four grandchildren, Jenifer (Tony) Laurvick, Courtney (Paul Fager) Patron, Ashley (Ryan) Van House and Connor Patron; brother, Nick (Donna) Bosh of MN; brother-in-law, Robert Nelson of ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stan (2005), sisters, Vonnie Peterson, Karen Schmechel and Diane Nelson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home with the Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m.
