Kandace Kay Loken

August 30, 1953 — June 18, 2020

Kandace Loken, 66, Arvilla, N.D., died Thursday, June 18, in Altru Hospital with the love of her life by her side.

Kandace Kay Stenvold was born August 30, 1953 in Drayton, ND to Lavanche and Elvin Stenvold. Kandace has two sisters (Lindee and Randie) and a little brother (Scott).

She met her husband, Merl while he was with his friend Marv and she was with her cousin Kathy. The two of them later met again at Marv and Kathy’s wedding and the rest, as she would say, is history, 43 years together of history! This was one of her favorite stories to tell.

Kandace and Merl have three children, Aaron (Grand Forks), Dana (Brad) Kuzel, Bemidji MN and Nashel (Jake) Rick, Fargo ND. Their family quickly grew with the addition of nine grandchildren. Joshua (Caitlin), Emily, Sydnee, Cooper, Jack, Reed, Max, Crosby and Sam.

Kandace loved to be with family, Christmas time, Itasca State Park, shopping and being the life of any party! Her annual shopping trip with her sister Randie was a highlight of her year.
