Judith Rivard

Judith “Judy” Rivard, 81, Grand Forks, ND, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Judy was born March 27, 1940 in Oslo, MN, the daughter of Edward and Ardath (Anvinson) Jenkins. She was raised and educated in Oslo and graduated from Oslo High School in 1958.

Judith married William Rivard on November 25, 1958 in Oslo. The couple raised their family and farmed near Stephen, MN until moving to Grand Forks in 1996.

Judy served on the Stephen Public School Board and volunteered with the Stephen ambulance service. She was very active in Grand Forks Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Rivard; children - Julie Lipsiea of Mayville, ND; Rick (Mary) Rivard of White Bear Lake, MN; Janelle (Dale and Becky) Hebert, Jill Rivard of Red Wing, MN; LaVonne (Mike) Baldwin of Mateca, CA; Rod (Amy) Rivard of Baltimore, MD; Nicole (Jim) DeSautel of Grafton, ND; Randy Rivard of Hanska, MN.  grandchildren - Jessica (Jered) Arneson, Patrick Lipsiea, Harry Lipsiea;  Abbie (Micah) Courneya; Noelle Rivard; Roger Hebert, Greg Hebert, Carly (Riley) Ehrmann; Cassie Eckblad, Katie Eckblad, Kayla Eckblad, Tyler (Katie) Rivard, Madeline Rivard, Hannah Rivard; Kylen Kostrzewski. great grandchildren -  Riley Arneson; Charlie Lipsiea and LuLu Lipsiea; Andy Jan and Daley Hebert; sibling - Randy (Chris) Jenkins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her daughter Janelle (Dale) Hebert; father and mother Ardath Jenkins; 2 brothers Gordy and Elroy; son-in-law Kelly Lipsiea; daughter-in-law Marie Larson. 

We would like to extend a thank you to Parkwood Senior Living Center and Lutheran Sunset Home for all of the love, compassion, support and care they gave to Judy.  We really appreciate all of you!

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be of the hour before the service in the church. There will also be a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:15 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery of Grand Forks.  Luncheon will follow at Holy Family.   Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks.
