Joyce M. Jarombek, age 91, of Grand Forks, died Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Unity Medical Center Hospital in Grafton, North Dakota.

Joyce Marie Millard was born June 30, 1933, in Clearwater County, Minnesota to Victor and Ella (Juve) Millard. Her family moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota when Joyce was ten years old. She graduated from Central High School in 1951. On June 14, 1953, Joyce was united in marriage to Raymond Jarombek at Bethel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. As a supportive military wife, Joyce moved with Raymond to Fort Lewis, Washington, and Aberdeen, Maryland. They later returned to Grand Forks. Joyce worked for over 35 years as a secretary and later became an executive assistant for Northern State Power, which eventually became Xcel Energy. She produced and edited Red River Ripples, a newsletter for employees. In 1973, she was named Twin Forks Secretary of the Year. On August 31, 1990, she celebrated her retirement.

Joyce was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and participated in the sewing club. She crocheted many beautiful afghans for loved ones and composed many amazing poems for special occasions. Ray and Joyce loved dancing, playing cards, and competing in bowling leagues. She deeply cherished spending time with her husband, family, and friends at their cabin on Midge Lake near Bemidji, Minnesota. Joyce enjoyed hosting holidays and celebrations creating beautiful memories for all with her thoughtful, caring ways. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Joyce is survived by her husband of 72 years, Raymond of Grand Forks, ND; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Ella; sister, Clara Skjei; and brother, Raymond Millard.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2025, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota with Pastor Jared Carson officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be held at Memorial Park South Cemetery in Grand Forks, North Dakota in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Amundson Funeral and Cremation Service of Grand Forks.
