We want to celebrate the life of Joyce Elaine Hanson (Ma). Joyce was born to Norval and Alta Smaaladen in Aneta, ND on April 5^th, 1935 and she spent her life focusing on giving care and shelter to her children and the 289 foster kids who became part of our family. She taught us all how to love, laugh, focus on strength, always help those in need, and most importantly, to dance around the kitchen while you’re cooking to make it more fun.

Joyce passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Maranatha Care Center in Brooklyn Center, MN. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Norval and Alta Smaaladen, her sons Randy and Rick, and her granddaughter Jessica. She is survived by her children: Dusti Augustine, Marvin Hanson (Esther), David Hanson (Susan), Diane Caza (Gary), Mark (Ducky) Daucsavage (LeeAnn), and Mary Jo Titus (Lynn), along with 13 (+) grandchildren and 20 (+) great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held for Joyce on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:30.  Interment will take place at Memorial Park South Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Masks will be mandatory at the funeral.
