Joseph G. Rohde, 78, Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, December 28, 2018 in 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village, Grand Forks.
Joseph George Rohde, the son of George J. and Vera (Pettis) Rohde, was born March 5, 1940 at Fargo, North Dakota. Joe attended school, until the end of 8th grade at a small schoolhouse near his home on the farm north west of Langdon, North Dakota. He worked for the sanitation department in Langdon, North Dakota for 22 years prior to retirement. After retiring he enjoyed doing wood and metal crafts. Really liked to do craftshows and meeting many different people.
Joseph was married to Mary Ann Koemstedt for 19 years. He married Mary G. Anderson on February 25, 1983. Mary passed away Feb. 16, 2008. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, his parents, an uncle, and his wife, Mary.
He is survived by his four daughters, Laurie (Randy) Mergenthal, Grand Forks, Sharon (Dennis) Larson, West Fargo, ND, Joann Ness, Crookston, MN, and Lorraine Rohde, Kansas City; 4 step-daughters, Patti Veil (Mandan, ND), Margo Dahlgren (Adams, ND), Tracy Anderson (Rochester, MN) and Alison Olson (Egan, MN); 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.
A special "Thank You" to the staff at Woodside Village and Altru Hospice for their wonderful care of our father.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1018 18th Ave South, Grand Forks.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will continue the hour before the service in the church.
Interment will be in the spring at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, North Dakota.
