Joni K. Williams, 65, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Joni was born on August 9, 1959, the daughter of Ronald and Marian (Hartford) Hansen in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church. Joni was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Red River High School in 1977. She attended Aakers Business College, receiving an Associate’s Degree in business.
Joni was united in marriage to Raymond Williams on December 23, 1982, at United Lutheran Church. Through this union, three sons were born: Mathew, Jon and Josh. They moved around due to Ray’s military service, which included England and Clovis, New Mexico. They later divorced and Joni returned to make her home in East Grand Forks. Joni worked at Valley Senior Living for many years until her retirement. Throughout her life she battled many health issues starting at the age of 18, but she always remained positive and lived life to the fullest.
Joni enjoyed crocheting, gardening, watching sports, especially UND teams and the Minnesota Vikings. She loved her cats, but her greatest joy in life was her family; especially her sons.
Joni is survived by her sons, Mathew (Dawn Fuke) Williams, of Portland, OR and Josh Williams of Grand Forks, ND; grandson, Toshi Passmore; mother, Marian Hansen; siblings, Curt (Janelle) Hansen, Dave (Lynette) Hansen, Greg (Elizabeth) Hansen, Suzanne (Mike) Lien and Terri Hansen; nieces and nephews, Derek, Adam, Ryan, Kayla, Alex, Julia, Matt, Caroline, Michael and Breanna and her nine great nieces and nephews; special friends, Julie Hendrickson, Kathy Deml, Kathy Miller and Stella Hanson and her cat, Charlie.
Joni was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, Ronald Hansen and son, Jon Williams.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024, at United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
