Jone Barnick slipped from this world and into the arms of her Lord on November 1, 2023, at Edgewood Memory Care, Grand Forks, ND surrounded by her family. Jone was born to J. D. and Josie Nunn on December 2, 1930, near Dawson, ND, where she graduated from high school. She was the youngest of twelve siblings.

Jone loved the Lord, her family and friends, her church family at Zion UMC, her dog Sadji, UND basketball, hockey, football, and the Atlanta Braves. The joy of her life was spending time with her children, Raenelle and Blaine, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her flowers each spring were beautiful, and she enjoyed tending them. She was known for her baking skills, and she was always looking for a new recipe to “try out.” She embroidered beautiful dishtowels that she shared with all of family and friends.

Jone is survived by her children Raenelle Sorensen (special friend Jerry Peterson), Blaine (Janie) Barnick, grandchildren Brock Barnick (Nicole), Branden Sorensen (Bri), Shannon Olson, Krisi Hammers (Joe), Ryan Barnick (Rachel), 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Clifford, Clyde, Dewey, Delmar, Rolland, Marlyn, and sisters Lorraine Luebtke, Leora Markham, Anoma Nunn, Sybil McGill, Mardella Ferguson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6th at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour before the service at Amundson Funeral Home.
