Click either of the following links: https://youtu.be/mRrzn8iedaE or live.faithfree.com John Alfred Anderson Jr., or “Jay,” was born on February 20, 1949 in Chicago, IL to John Alfred Anderson (DDS) and Eleanor Ruth Anderson. Jay was raised in the Chicago area until moving to Grand Forks in October of 1976. He was educated at Glenbrook South HS in Glenview, IL before earning a bachelor’s degree at Southern Methodist University, and a Doctorate of Dental Studies at the Northwestern Dental School. Jay completed his dental residency at the LD Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Miami, FL in 1976. Jay was professionally associated with the American Dental Association, the North Dakota Dental Association, the Northeast District Dental Society, the American Equilibrium Society, and the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. He was a fellow at the American College of Dentists, and a visiting faculty member at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL. Jay was preceded in death by his parents John and Eleanor Anderson, his maternal grandparents Marshall and Ruth Anderson, and his paternal grandparents A. Garfield and Hattie Anderson, who were medical missionaries to Korea for 27 years. He is survived by his wife Ilene K. (Monda) Anderson, his daughter Christine Ruth McLean (husband Ryan), his son John A. Anderson III (wife Christie Ann), and his four grandchildren, John A. Anderson IV or “Johnny,” Reese Mclean, Olivia Mclean and Noel Anderson. Jay was affiliated with the Faith Evangelical Free Church (FECA) where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and was involved with several other ministries within the church. He was passionate about golfing, skiing, and UND sports. His life purpose: “I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, in order that I may finish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24 Memorial donations made in lieu of flowers will be used to honor Jay’s favorite organizations, the Child Evangelism Fellowship, The Gideons, and The LD Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education.
