JoAnn Quanrud, 91, Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, January 17, 2020 at Valley Senior Living on 42nd.
Myrtle JoAnn Rholl was born August 18, 1928 in Fertile, MN, the daughter of John and Maude (Johnson) Rholl. She was raised and educated at Fertile. She earned her teaching degree in MN, continued her education in ND and later earned her Master's Degree from the University of North Dakota. She moved to Mekinock, ND and began her teaching career in the 1940’s, teaching in a one room schoolhouse near Manvel, ND. In 1964, she joined the Grand Forks Public Schools and taught students with learning disabilities at Nathan Twining Elementary and Middle School on the Grand Forks Air Force Base until 1993.
JoAnn was an avid gardener and animal lover. She often spoke of her love for her dogs and horses.
JoAnn married Harris Quanrud on August 18, 1948 near Fertile, MN. He passed away on June 7, 2004.
JoAnn is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris; and by brothers, Herb and Howard.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home.
