Jesse M. Ridl

Jesse M. Ridl, 41, Grand Forks, ND, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at his parent’s home.         

Jesse Matthew Ridl was born July 3, 1978 the son of the late Jeffrey Ridl and Jane Humble at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Jesse attended school in Fargo, Minot and Grand Forks, ND. He graduated from Central High School in 1998. The teachers he had in Grand Forks were excellent and contributed to his success as an adult. Jesse participated in Special Olympics. His favorite sports were bowling, basketball and powerlifting.

Following school, Jesse moved into an independent supported living arrangement (ISLA). Jesse attended the ACES day program and was a member of the AKTION club at Development Homes, Inc. The staff at DHI became Jesse’s second family. They showed him love, acceptance and encouragement. They helped him find his place in this world as a meaningful, valued and necessary person. He had many special staff, in particular, Joyce, Tanya, Heather, Ferry, Casey, Julie, Kristie, Matt, John and Angie, and so many others as well.

Jesse was a man of good humor and unconditional love. He had a love for watches, calendars, mugs, diet Mountain Dew, numbers, Mexican pizza from Mexican Village, fish, pumpkin pie, Dancing With the Stars and the Christian Worship Hour. He loved without reservation his family, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends.

Jesse is survived by his mother, Jane Humble; step father, Mark Humble; sister, Kathren Humble; brother, Aaron (Leann) Humble; nieces, Cavanna Humble and Irelynn Humble; his nephew, Brexton Humble; his grandmother, Ruth Humble and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Ridl; paternal grandparents, Gordon and Agnes Ridl; maternal grandparents, Louis and Edna Olson; grandfather, Elroy “Bud” Humble; and his cousin, Adam Olson

Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, November 21, 2019 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
