Jeffrey Thornton, 58,Grand Forks, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
He was born June 28, 1961 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Alvin and Judy Thornton. He and Lisa (Nelson) Thornton married on May 20th, 1995.
Jeff was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was even known to be a halfway decent house
painter. He was a lover of the outdoors, and took his children camping often earlier in life. There wasn't a Sunday that went by that you couldn't find him in the garage with family and friends enjoying the Vikings, or yelling at them in most cases.
He was never short of words for the daily caring phone calls he made to his mother and his sister Debbie. The many women would tell him one thing but he knew what he wanted and that was exactly what he was going to do and no one was going to convince him otherwise. He lived simply and loved big he will be greatly missed and we will all notice when the room isn’t filled with his deep boisterous personality and laughter.
He is survived by his wife Lisa (Nelson) Thornton, his daughter Brittany (John) Hesse & his son Jacob Schmitt (Ariel), and 3
grandchildren; Devyn, Jaxon, Grace. His parents: Judy (Meshefski) & Alvin Thornton, his 2 sisters; Debbie (Russ) Mathues & Lisa (Randy) Keegan, his special aunt Diane Duray and his many beloved nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by: his brother; Gregory Thornton: his grandmother Pauline (Starman) Thornton; his grandfather: Alvin A. Thornton; his grandmother: Florence (Duray) Meshefski; and his grandfather: Harry Meshefski.
