Jeffrey John Holkesvig, 59, of Water Valley, Mississippi, passed away on January 18, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee after a sudden illness.
Jeff was born December 6, 1961 to John and Sharon (Strom) Holkesvig in Mayville, ND. He was the third of five children. He attended various small town schools and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1980. He served our country in the U.S. Navy for 2 years. Jeff married Theresa B. Marynik on April 28, 1990 and they were married for 28 years until her passing in 2018. During their marriage Jeff worked as a mail carrier at the Grand Forks, North Dakota Post Office until his retirement when they moved to Nevis, MN in 2015. On October 17, 2019 Jeff married Dena M. Olson in Walker, Minnesota. In October, 2020 they moved to Mississippi and were excited to begin their new adventure and were building a home with plans for a quonset to store all of Jeff’s treasures!
Jeff enjoyed spending time at the lake especially fishing and working outdoors, his cats (Sabrina, Stripes, Dixie, & Linda), his dog, Bandit, and collecting signs, pinball machines, and slot machines for his man cave. He loved listening to all types of music and cruising in his convertibles. Jeff had a great sense of humor and loved being a jokester and his quest for finding the largest Monster Cookie was satisfied.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Dena, stepsons Rodney (Billie) Eubanks and Steven Eubanks, step grandchildren Hayden, Rayna, McKenzie and Braxton (Rodney), all of Water Valley; sisters Debbie (Paul Grev) Ensrud of Fargo and Vicky Leen of Park Rapids; brothers Jay (Angela) Holkesvig of East Grand Forks, and Cory Holkesvig of Park Rapids. Nephews Thomas and Terrance Leen (Vicky) and nieces Alivia, Alayna, and Alizabeth Holkesvig (Jay). Jeff is also survived by the Marynik family, Rose (Bob) Bina, Cathy (Mike) Richard, Leo (Colleen) Marynik, Robert (Jorjan) Marynik, Tim (Susan Grass) Marynik, and Ron (Deneen) Marynik and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, wife Theresa, and nephew Dustin Leen (Vicky).

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Amundson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Memorial Park South, Grand Forks, ND.
