Jeanne Kay Bushaw, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Halstad Living Center with her family by her side.
Jeanne was born on October 6, 1940 in DeLamere, ND, to Iliff and Elinor (Moen) Olson. She was a middle child in a close-knit family of 6 girls and 1 boy.
She met and married James C. Freese and together they had 4 children, Daniel, Dawn, Todd and Jennifer. After the marriage ended she moved to Grand Forks with her children and started a job at the University of North Dakota.
She later met and married Harry E. Bushaw and she added a daughter, Michelle.
Jeanne was a people person and held jobs in event planning at the Holiday Inn and the Alerus Center where she specialized in wedding planning.
She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She was fun loving, had a great sense of humor and was beautiful inside and out.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jamie Zink, Jodi Hastings, Brandon Hastings, Gina Freese, Jacob Freese, Hannah Freese, Christopher Blake, and Evan Jorde.
Jeanne is survived by her sisters, Linda Foley, and Sharon (Wayne) Gibson; her children, Daniel (Andrea) Freese, Dawn Hastings (Mark Amsbaugh), Todd Freese (Crystal Nelson), Michelle Jorde (Cory Aaker); and several grandkids, great-grandkids, and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marlene, Janice, and Diana; a brother, Colin; and nieces and nephews. Sadly, she is also preceded in death by her dear daughter, Jennifer and grandson, Andrew Blake.
She touched so many and will be greatly missed.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in Amundson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date at DeLamere, North Dakota.
Memorials are preferred to Halstad Living Center or the American Diabetes Association.
