Jeanette M. Bucholz

Jeanette M. Bucholz, 95, Grand Forks, died Thursday, February 16, 2023 at  Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks.

Jeanette Marion Blaine, the daughter of Elmer John Blaine and Cora Marie (Bjerken) Blaine, was born on August 9, 1927 in Moylan Township, Marshall County, Minnesota.   She attended school at Goodridge, Minnesota and graduated from Goodridge High School.  She married Harley Bucholz on November 21, 1948 at Grygla, Minnesota.  They moved to Grand Forks where they made their home and raised their family.   Jeanette was employed in dietary services at Good Samaritan in East Grand Forks, Minnesota for many years.

Jeanette enjoyed animals, especially dogs, cats, and horses, which she rode until age 70.  She also enjoyed mowing the lawn with the riding mower.  Jeanette was a fierce pinochle player and played many other card games.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #157, East Grand Forks.

Jeanette is survived by her four daughters, Paulette Aaker, Grand Forks, Pamela Aaker (Kevin Bonham), Grand Forks, Penny Rogers, Crookston, Minnesota, and Pixie Sites (Jack), Grand Forks;  7 grandchildren, Kelly, Shawn, Traci, Shosti, Cory, Heidi, and Aaron;  and 12 great- grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley; a brother, Alvin Blaine;  and a son-in-law, Tommy Aaker.

Jeanette’s family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Valley Senior Living for the excellent care and compassion provided to the family. 

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave, Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the church.  Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.  Memorials are preferred to Circle of Friends Animal Shelter.
