JANICE MAE RUSTVOLD

Janice M. Rustvold, 80, Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away on Monday September 3rd, 2018, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.  Janice was a very private person, and it was her wish to have no funeral service. The family intends to honor her wish, and a private service will be held for immediate family only. The family wishes it to be known that if you knew Janice, it is good enough if you simply remember her in your own quiet way.

Janice Mae Knutson Rustvold was born October 2, 1937, in Langdon, North Dakota, the daughter of Ernest H. and Grace I. (Romfo) Knutson. 

Janice spent the first 12 years of her life near Vang and Walhalla, North Dakota, where she attended country schools.  In 1949, she moved with her family to a farm near Thompson, North Dakota.  There she completed her elementary education and eventually graduated from Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Janice was employed in the business office of United Lutheran Church for four years and for Grand Forks Federal Savings and Loan for over two years. 

On October 2, 1965, Janice was united in marriage to John A. Rustvold at the United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.  They lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for four years, where Janice was employed by the Provident Insurance Company. After the birth of their first son in l969, the couple returned to Grand Forks, North Dakota, to make their home. John was killed in a car accident the day before Thanksgiving, November 25, 1975.

Janice is survived by her two sons, Chad of Thompson, North Dakota, and Kirk of Castle Rock, Colorado, her sister Dianne (Ken) Stremick of Fargo, nephew Corey Stremick of Langdon, niece Stephanie Stremick, great-nephews Parker Wirth and Lennox Gieseke, all of Fargo, sister-in-law Katherine Rustvold (William) Foxley of Saratoga, WY and brother-in-law Mark David Rustvold of Boca Raton, FL. 

Janice is preceded in death by her husband, John, and parents Ernest H. and Grace I. Knutson.
