Jamie Marcotte, 47, Bismarck, formerly of Grand Forks, died Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Sanford Bismarck Medical Center, Bismarck, North Dakota.

Jamie Marie Marcotte was born October 28, 1976, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of James Marcotte and Gwendolyn Anderson (Green). She attended Lewis & Clark Elementary School, South Junior High School, and Central High School. She married Patrick Thompson on April 16th, 1994. They had two children: Destinee, and Kalab. In 2019, Jamie moved to Bismarck North Dakota to marry her middle school sweetheart, Dewayne Jerome Jr. The two married on June 6th, 2019.

Jamie enjoyed spending her time with her husband, her kids, her three cats (Jackson, Sammy, Charlie), and her dog Emma. Jamie enjoyed summers at the lake with her family, crafting, taking photographs, and watching her favorite reality tv shows.

Jamie is survived by her children: Destinee Thompson (Cory Feist), Bismarck, Kalab (Arielle) Thompson, Grand Forks; husband, Dewayne “Kojack” Jerome Jr, Bismarck; sisters: Stacy (Troy) Pruett, Grand Forks, Jennifer Albert, Arizona, Sherri Manchas; brothers: Greg Smith (Aimee) Washington, Scott Smith (Courtney); parents: James Marcotte, East Grand Forks, Gwendolyn (Mark) Anderson, Forest River; nephews and nieces: Troy Pruett Jr, Fargo, Steven Pruett, Grand Forks, Zachary (Savanna) Lefebvre, Arizona, Samantha Lefebvre, Arizona, Casey Smith, Kaylee Smith, Shelbee Smith, Devon Smith, David Manchas (Marlys), Landon, Ellie Mae Manchas, Jerry Lynn Manchas, Danielle Carpeal (Kenneth), Sierra Smith, Sherri Smith, Scotty Smith; great nieces and nephew Cavanna Humble, Hadley Carpeal, Hudson Carpeal, and grandparents Ovide and Verna Marcotte, Grand Forks, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jamie was proceeded in death by her grandparents Marge and Jerry Green, uncles and second cousin.

In honor of Jamie’s 4-year battle with Lung Cancer, the family is asking those in attendance to wear white in honor of lung cancer awareness.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
Burial will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in East Grand Forks at 3:30pm.
