Iven Leif Stottrup, a beloved member of the Grand Forks community, passed away on July 7, 2024. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work and his selfless nature.

Iven's professional career was marked by his ownership of Stottrup Excavating & Septic, where he tirelessly worked to ensure the satisfaction of each and every customer. He was well-known in the area for his commitment to excellence, with customers often seeking him out even while he was already busy assisting others.

Born on November 24, 1952, to Leif and Ruth (Holiday) Stottrup in Grand Forks, ND. He attended school in Larimore and graduated with the Class of 1970. He furthered his education in college, earning multiple degrees and embodying a lifelong love for learning.Beyond his professional endeavors, Iven was cherished for his gentle, kind, hardworking, and generous personality. He was always willing to put others' needs before his own and was deeply loved within the Emerado and surrounding communities.

In his leisure time, Iven found joy in gardening, with a particular fondness for growing broccoli, carrots, potatoes, cucumber, tomatoes, and more. He also took pleasure in tending to his herd of goats and relished the near endless supply of goat milk they provided him. Iven Stottrup leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication that will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

He is survived by his loving family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.Iven is survived by his wife, Carol of Emerado, ND, daughter, Jenny Gunderson of Arizona; sister, Sonja Enger of Cloquet, MN; brother, Howard Stottrup and sister-in-law, Virginia Stottrup and two nephews, Nathan and Jason Stottrup of Cloquet, MN; cousin Cheryl (Tom) Moen of North Dakota; Step-daughter, Tina Forte (Dave Wall) and grandsons, Gavin and Griffin Forte of Long Island, NY; Step-son, Johnny Reidy (Sherry Aarnes) of Grand Forks, ND.

Services to honor and celebrate Iven's life will be held at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks on July 11, 2024. A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at the Emerado City Cemetery following the service.
