Glenna Marie (Willert) Johnson, 105, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on April 12, 2024, at Woodside Village, Valley Senior Living.

Glenna was born on November 7, 1918, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Paul and Emma Willert. She was raised in her beginning years in Thompson, ND. At eight years old her parents moved to a farm 2 miles west of Crookston, MN. She was from a family of eleven children. She graduated from Central High School, Crookston, MN.

Glenna married Floyd A. Johnson, September 1939, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN. They moved to Superior, WI, for Floyd’s work and stayed a few years but returned and settled in Grand Forks, ND. They had two children, a son, Jerry C. Jonnson, and a daughter, Ginni Kroocmo. Glenna’s husband, Floyd, passed away in 1984.

Glenna was a devoted mother and to her family. A very positive, caring, fun and faith-filled lady. She loved playing the piano for everyone at gatherings with her ‘oldies’ music. She was talented in many ways and acrobatic at times, standing on her head and showing she could still do it.

She worked part-time for 9 years in the GF City Hall Assessor’s Office. Then, for 26 years, worked in Human Resources at the University of North Dakota Medical Rehab Hospital.

She was an ‘avid’ bowler throughout her life and was inducted into the 1996 Women’s International Bowling Hall of Fame; she was a 600 Club Member; and awarded the key to the City by Mayor Brown. She attended many national tournaments and was recognized for her bowling scores and skills. She was a woman of many talents and a longtime member of Augustana Lutheran Church in GF where she participated in activities, taught Sunday School; church money counter; sang in the church choir; and volunteered many years playing the piano for the devotional services at Good Samaritan Senior Living in East Grand Forks, MN.

Glenna is survived by her daughter Ginni (Rod) Kroocmo of Grand Fork, ND; grandsons Brad Segall, of Grand Forks, ND; Mike (Deisy) Segall, Lake Jackson, TX; Chad (Nikki) Kroocmo Anvinson, East Grand Forks, MN; Paul (Jennifer) Miller, Bloomington, MN; granddaughters Alexis (Fabrice) Mouret, New York, NY; Raquel Wynn, Panama; Great-grandchildren: Brittany (Trevor) Nygaard; Mason Segall; Kyle (Alexis) Riendeau; Sydney and Emma Anvinson; Amanda Segall (Kory) Phelps, Dalton (Kelly) Segall, Colton Segall; Makena Miller and Mahli Miller, Leo Mouret. A daughter-in-law Daryll Jonnson, UK; a sister Donna Haug and sister-in-law, Rena Willert; many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
