Gladys M. Amundson, 102, passed away on May 13, 2024, in Maple View Memory Care, Grand Forks.
Gladys was born in Rural Manvel, North Dakota to Helen (Nelson) and Amund Amundson on September 13, 1921. She attended a rural elementary school and Manvel High School. Gladys graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing in Grand Forks in 1941. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Seattle, Cordoba, Alaska, and Pomona, California. She worked for the American Red Cross Blood Bank in Los Angles for 20 years.
Glady’s interests were Square Dancing, Cards, Senior Center, and Horse Racing.
Gladys married Dr. John Porter and later married William Gleason. She lived in California until 1998, when she returned to North Dakota to care for her brother Donald Amundson.
She is survived by a sister, Laverne Hall of Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Floyd, Kenneth, and Donald, several nieces and nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Maple View Memory Care in Grand Forks.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Amundson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
Interment will be held in Middle Grove Cemetery, Rural Manvel.
