Gerald "Jerry" O. Kjorvestad

Gerald “Jerry” O. Kjorvestad, age 74, of Thompson, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at his farm home.

Gerald O. Kjorvestad was born on November 6, 1950, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Gilmore and Genevieve (Austreng) Kjorvestad. Jerry studied auto mechanics and graduated from North Dakota State School of Science of Wahpeton in 1970. On March 1, 1971, Jerry was inducted into the United States Army. He served for two years before his honorable discharge on February 28, 1973. Jerry spent his working career farming and managing the Kjorvestad family farm in rural south Grand Forks.

Jerry is survived by his significant other, Lori Knutson; brother, Roger Kjorvestad; sister, Shelly (Joe Schroetter) Rae; daughters, Jessica and Alyson; four grandchildren; brother-in-law, David Stinar; five nephews; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilmore and Genevieve; and sisters, Susan Stinar and Ruth Driver. 

The family will host a Celebration of Life for Jerry in the Spring of 2025.
