Gayle Elaine Davidson, 68, Grand Forks, died Monday, July 15, 2019 at Essentia Health, Fargo.
Gayle was born July 20, 1950 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of Garvie and Elaine (Lofthus) Haroldson. She grew up in Adams, ND and graduated from Adams High School in 1968. Gayle attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks, graduating in 1969.
On February 14, 1970, Gayle married Dale Davidson and made their home in Grand Forks. In 1976, they joined Sharon Lutheran Church where Gayle often helped around the church. Gayle worked as a legal secretary before starting her career as a medical transcriptionist for UND Rehab Hospital in1978, and retired from Altru Hospital in 2009.
For the last 19 years, Gayle’s life revolved around her two grandchildren. She loved supporting their endeavors in sports, activities and many impromptu lunches. One of Gayle’s greatest joys was hosting extended family every Thanksgiving, Christmas and other times throughout the year. Over the past five years, she and close friends traveled together often. For 42 years, she was an active member of Al Anon.
Gayle is survived by her husband Dale; son Jared (Kamie) Davidson, Grand Forks, grandchildren: Morgan Davidson, Tanner Davidson, both of Grand Forks; brothers: Richard (Renee) Haroldson, Loretto, MN, Garlen (Suzanne) Haroldson, Oakdale, MN; sister-in-law: Randi (Rod) Bangsund, Morris, MN and many nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dean Haroldson.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the start of the service at the church.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Burial will be held in Hitterdal Cemetery, Adams, North Dakota.
