Gail Pamela Carney

Gail Pamela Carney, 67, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024.

Gail was born on February 7, 1957 to Robert (Douglas in the Turtle Mountain area) and Gertrude Poitra in Belcourt, ND. After the family moved to Grand Forks, Gail attended Wilder Elementary, Valley Middle, and Central High Schools.

In 1984, Gail married Luke Carney in Great Falls, MT, and they had 40 wonderful years together. Gail had 3 children, a daughter Tina Archer, and sons Eric and Brandan Carney. Gail was a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, a devoted housewife, mother, friend, and supporter of the Armed Forces.

Gail is predeceased by her parents Robert and Gertrude Poitra, and brother Arlen Poitra. She is survived by sisters Carol Alloy, and Cathy Anderson-Poitra, Brother-in-Law Dave Alloy, husband Luke Carney, daughter Tina Archer, sons Eric Carney, and Brandan Carney, grandchildren Curtis Carney, Leah Archer, Kristofer Carney, Colton Carney, Hayden Archer, Jenna Archer, and Amelia Carney, and nephews Christopher Breidenbach and Lee Morrison.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
