Faye Fladland-Linfoot

March 15, 1927 — November 8, 2020

Faye Fladland-Linfoot, 93, Grand Forks, died Sunday, November 8, 2020 in Valley Senior Living on Columbia, surrounded by her family. 

Faye Eleanor Vantine, the daughter of John Cecil Vantine and Cora Mace (Grimes) Vantine, was born at Grandin, North Dakota on March 15, 1927.  Faye graduated from Bismarck High School.  She attended UND and graduated  in 1949 with a BA in history.    She married Raymond Fladland on September 5, 1948.  Raymond died in March, 1990.  She married C.L. “Bud” Linfoot on May  12, 2001. Bud died in August, 2010. 

Faye was active in the community, serving as President of several organizations including United Lutheran Church Women, Chapter T and Chapter AO of PEO, and the YWCA.  She was also a member of the United Lutheran Church Choir for over 40 years, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a blood donor. 

She loved being with her family, especially at the many gatherings at Lake Bemidji and at their duck hunting trailer near New Rockford.  She enjoyed playing bridge and doing many things with her friends.

Faye is survived by her 3 children, Paul (Glory) Fladland, Peggy (Randy) Ganyo, and Sally (Larry) Miller;  9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren;  stepchildren, Laurie Linfoot Brown and family, Janice (Brad) Pratt and family;  Patti (Doug) Peterson;  and Merrie (Mike) Miller and family. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, brothers, Glenn (Leola) Vantine and Jack (Thelma) Vantine; husband Ray, and husband Bud;  a grandson, Michael Ganyo. 

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 in United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks will be required to attend, and social distancing will be observed.  Following the funeral service, burial will follow in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.   

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Hospice of the Red River Valley, 1701 38th St. S., Fargo, ND  58103; United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks, ND  58201;  or Valley Senior  Living Foundation, 2900 14th Ave. S. , Grand Forks, ND 58201.
