Eunice Vold

October 9, 1931 — February 28, 2019

Eunice Vold, 87, Grand Forks, died peacefully Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND.

Eunice Viola Fagerholt was born in Grafton, ND to Albert and Clara (Brende) Fagerholt and resided on the family farm near Hoople, ND.  She was baptized, confirmed and married at First Lutheran Church in Hoople.  She graduated from Hoople High School in 1949.  Eunice graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN in 1953 and after marriage to Harold Vold on July 19, 1953 moved to Minneapolis, MN where she taught school while Harold attended Luther Theological Seminary.

 A move to Keene, ND started their parish ministry.  As a pastor's wife Eunice was very involved in the life of the church wherever they lived.  Leading Bible Studies was a special skill and joy.  Subsequent moves were to Ellendale/Edgeley, ND; Sharon Lutheran in Grand Forks, ND; Milnor Lutheran in Milnor, ND; and St. John's Lutheran in Jamestown, ND.  Eunice was a substitute teacher in GF public schools for many years.

 Upon retirement Eunice & Harold returned to Grand Forks and were active in many organizations including Sons of Norway and Meals on Wheels.  Eunice taught Bible Study at Parkwood Place for 20 years.  She was president of Bethesda Society of Valley Homes for over 20 years.  Eunice was the Volunteer Coordinator of United Lutheran Church as well as leader of many church events as the president of the women's organization at United.

Eunice served as district president of the American Lutheran Church Women of Eastern North Dakota at which time she served on the Board of Regents at Concordia College.  Eunice also received the GF Sertoma Service to Mankind District Award.  She was a loving and caring person who would do anything she could for anyone.

 Survived by her husband Harold, Grand Forks; her daughter Marie Rogger (fiance Steve Liberda), Hudson, WI; sons Robert (Cathy) Vold, Maple Grove, MN and Bruce (Anne) Vold, Hatton, ND, as well as 7 grandchildren, Nathan (Krista) Gossai, Chandra (Dave) Martin, Bryan Vold, Matthew Vold, Annie Vold, Kenzie Vold, and Kelly (Jordan) Odden.  Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren; Annika, Maren, Clara, and Brita Gossai; Charlie and Maggie Martin.  One sister survives, Eulalie Smestad (Northfield, MN), as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.  Loved by many, an inspiration to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as brothers Arthur, Elmo, and Leonard Fagerholt.

Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 Sunday, March 3, at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks.  Visitation will continue at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 Monday, March 4, at United Lutheran in Grand Forks.  Arrangements by Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.

 In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Park River Bible Camp or Red Willow Bible Camp.
