Ermelinda "Erma" Sena

Ermelinda "Erma" Sena, 72, Grand Forks, died Friday, May 28, 2021 at Altru Hospital. 

Erma loved Jesus. She loved God’s creation. She was a constant companion to her husband, Bob, for 53 years. Together, they hiked mountains, hunted deer, swam lakes and fished rivers. They lived in England for four years and served in the military for over 20 years. 

Together they raised two kids, Alberta and Dave Sena. Erma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family dearly and kept their faces close to her on her walls and in her prayers.

She was thrifty and eager to give so much to so many people. Together, Erma and Bob fostered kids, taught kids the Bible and loved on them all. They never refused anyone a place to stay or a meal.  They had someone staying with them in their home their whole marriage. Mom worked hard to make her home a place of prayer and hospitality. She welcomed strangers, prayed for all and shared Jesus with anyone she could.

Erma’s Day Care was her ministry to kids for over thirty years. She taught them to pray, forgive and believe Jesus loved them. As a result, hundreds of kids learned to read, write and love Jesus.

She desired that her family would know Jesus the way she did. She often told us, “I love you. But Jesus loves you more.” She prayed for people all across the world and ached to be with Jesus. So if she met you today, know that you were prayed for.

 Erma is survived by her husband Bob Sena, daughter Alberta (James) McLeod; son, Dave (Silvia) Sena, grandchildren: Ursulita (Matt) Touchtone, Samantha Sena, LeRoy Touchtone, Christopher (Kirsten) Touchtone, Joseph Sena; great grandchildren: Abigail Touchtone, Ezekiel Touchtone, Gabriel Touchtone, Daniel Touchtone, Zipporah Touchtone; Xavier Schill, Makayla Schill, Adayln Schill; Selena Touchtone, Amara Touchtone; sisters Michelle Talamante, Ruby Talamante; brother Robert Talamante, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mom Ursulita Talamante (Villarreal), her father Jose Albert Morales, her stepfather Joe Isidor Talamante, her brothers Isidor and Steve Talamante, and her sister Alberta Morales.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Freedom Church Mission.
