Erick Johnson, Jr. , 81, of Grand Forks, ND, died on October 16, 2021.

He was born on May 6, 1940, in Grand Forks to Erick and Dorothy (Wright) Johnson. He grew up in Michigan, ND and Grand Forks, ND, graduating from Central High School in 1959. Erick was honorably discharged from military service in December 1960. 

On July 18, 1965, he married Anita K. Larson of Grand Forks, ND at Sharon Lutheran Church. He worked for the City of Grand Forks for 37 years, most recently as an equipment operator, retiring in 2003. There they raised two children.

Watching vintage movies, listening to Glenn Miller music, playing whist cards, talking politics, geography and WWII were some of his favorite pastimes, especially if any of it involved his homemade chocolate cake.  Erick was a member of Sharon Lutheran for over 55 years.

Surviving is his wife Anita and two daughters, Ann (Steven) Beegun of Round Lake, Il and Rachel (Erik) Ramstad of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by two granddaughters Sarah and Maria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. The family is requesting that those who attend the memorial service wear masks.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.  Memorials are preferred to Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
