Eric Tilden Stanley

Eric Tilden Stanley, 40 passed away at his home in Grand Forks on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

Eric was born on December 19, 1980, to Victor and Susan (Thompson) Stanley, in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  In his younger years he attended schools in Grand Forks, and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1999.  After graduating high school and few years of working and starting life on his own, he met his soon to be future wife, Cassandra Thompson.  After their meeting, Eric ended up moving to Tucson, Arizona where he worked, attended college and earned a Liberal Art degree at Pima Community College. He then married Cassandra Thompson in 2013 and they continued to raise Cloee, their daughter (stepdaughter).  Shortly after they had their first daughter, Zellah.  He then continued his education at Arizona State University where he graduated in 2015 with a degree in Bachelor of Social Work. Shortly after this their second daughter, Victoria arrived.  They then decided to move back to Grand Forks to raise their family.  Eric found a job as a social worker. He later moved to his most recent job of DDPM- 2 at North Dakota and the department of human services with Northeast Human Service Center.

Eric’s first and main love was spending time with his three precious daughters Cloee, Zellah and Victoria.  He loved them with all his heart and was a very proud Dad “Daddy”. Weekly adventure and spending time with the girls was always top of his list! He also loved being around his pets that he owned over the years with his English Bulldogs/Mastiff, Frankie and Marble.  Along with his most recent puppy companion, Daisy that he and the girls enjoyed playing with.

Eric enjoyed the outdoors where his favorite hobby/sport of frisbee golf took up some of the little free time he had.  He also enjoyed camping, hiking, outdoor grilling, bonfires, video games, scary movies and listening to good music.

We were all blessed with the short time we had with Eric.  For all who got to know Eric, they know he wore his heart on his sleeve and was outspoken in his beliefs. He was a kind and gentle soul all around.  Eric you will be forever loved and missed by all of us.  May the Lord bless and keep you in His eternal loving hands…

Eric is survived by his three daughters, Zellah, Victoria and Cloee (stepdaughter) of Grand Forks; mother, Susan, Grand Forks; brother, Zak Stanley, Burnsville, MN; aunt and Uncle, Carol and Tom Fontaine, Woodbury, MN; cousin, Dustin Opp, Maplewood, MN; aunt and Uncle, Dave and Diane Stanley; cousins, Christy (Stanley) Marken, and Eddie Stanley; aunt, Judy Tinker; and canine puppy friend’s, Daisy, Izzie and Dakota.
